DIY Framing

New Framing Technique

I started framing my artwork in the summer of 2014, using simple 45 degree miter cuts from a miter box and handsaw. The frames were simple and minimal. With the investment of a miter saw, cleaner joints became possible.

Six months later, I needed a new framing technique - a design that is easily alterable and does not require any type of fastening to the actual frame of the canvas.

In my search for the perfect framing technique, I came across this video below, which I am happy to share with you. This is the first building block in learning how to make frames.

My frame glued, stapled, and left to dry.
